Beads on Canvas Wall Art
I came up with this project as I was going through some clutter in my office drawers. I had an unfinished oval canvas and lots of colorful beads which never turned into pretty beaded bracelets. If you’re planning on making a similar project, be prepared to spend some time on it. It is time consuming, but in the end it’s totally worth it.
Tool that you need are:
- Blank canvas
- Pencil and eraser
- Some paint like temepra or acrylic
- Paper glue (I used good old elmer’s glue)
- Beads
Sketch a pattern that you like. Don’t overcomplicate this part – you may change your mind midway and come up with something different. Plan out a style, mood, and color scheme in advance. In my case, I was working with the beads leftovers, meaning I didn’t have many color options.
Once you have a sketch, paint each segment with the color corresponding to the color of beads you’re planning to use. This will help you to visualize what the end product will look like, plus give you a solid background color.
Glue each bead close to each other, make sure they are similar in size and that you have enough for each color. As you can see I ran out of dark blue ones in the circles near the center and had to use another shade of blue. Don’t forget about the canvas edges. You don’t want your beautiful wall art to look unfinished after so much work has been put into it.
If you have a larger canvas to work on, I would recommend picking larger beads, to save time. Hope this was helpful, enjoy!!
